The mission of the program is to cultivate diverse actors through exposure, relationships, education, and resources.
History
Established in 2021, the Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Diverse Actors Program started as intensive virtual training program consisting of acting classes, casting director workshops, SPT executive panels, actor life coaching sessions, and industry masterclasses. Participants of the program also received one-on-one mentorships with SPT casting executives. The program ended with a virtual showcase attended by SPT executives and industry professionals such as casting directors and showrunners.
2023 Program
As was the case in previous years, this is a training-intensive program with exposure to leading industry executives.
The majority of the program will be virtual; however, there may be some live portions in Los Angeles.
